Our history, our beliefs, and more.
Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church is a rural church that was founded on June 24, 1920 at Pleasant View Schoolhouse in rural Mount Vernon, Illinois. The church was organized with the objective to introduce people to the saving power of Jesus Christ through missionary work.
The church continues to operate to this day with our doors open every Sunday for various worship services. We believe a tightly-knit community is a successful community, which is why we strive to build relationships with everyone who enters our doors. Our caring attitude also extends to our missionary work, which includes donating money and other goods to various home and foreign missions including the Carmi Baptist Children’s Home and Angel’s Cove in Mount Vernon.
What We Believe.
The Bible is the complete and infallible Word of God.
There is only one living and true God.
God exists in three persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Man’s Need of God
Man was created in holiness, but has fallen from grace through sin.
God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins.
Accepting Christ as your savior is the only means of eternal life after death.
